It has been yet another crazy week. Some exciting things are happening on the home front.  I'll be sharing with you soon.  Until then here are a few pictures that were taken at a pumpkin patch last fall.

Tonight was a sad night on The Amazing Race.  Lets just say it wasn't that amazing to see your favorite team get sent home.  My husband and I were really rootin' for the cowboys to win it all this time around.  They have been one of the few teams to run the race with integrity, even in losing tonight they kept their positive attitude.   I know they have done their family and Oklahoma proud.  Because of them "oh gravy"  is now in my dictionary, right up there with "darnit my bagarnit", thats mine but you can use it if you  want to.  So long  for now cowboys, hope to see you on the next Amazing Race.

I'm back peeps !  Did ya miss me ?  Oh, you didn't even realize I was gone ....  Hmmm, interesting.  Well I was gone, but I'm back now.  I was gone so long I almost forgot my password to get into my blog. Scary huh?

Where have I been you ask?  Well let me tell you.   Have you ever seen the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral?  Well at the flowershop this week it was more like Three Weddings and a Prom, with other events scattered in there as well.  So in flower girl world that equals BUSY-NESS !! I did think about my blog while laying on my pillow at night.  In fact I had  many good posts floating around in my head,  but once morning came they were gone, never to be remembered again !  Before I began blogging I would drift off to sleep making up country music songs in my head.  And they were good too.  In fact I probably could have had a few # 1 hits on my hands if only I had written them down.  But now the world will never hear them.  I am truly sorry about that!

In bow making news I sold 2 more for a total of 3 !!!  (Thanks Wenny!)  I am planning on selling alot Mother's Day weekend.  Our town is having a festival and I will have a booth set up with my bows.  I am going to draw people to my bows and make them buy some by sending them subliminal messages. I haven't got it all figured out yet but I still have a couple of weeks to work on it, so no worries.

Thats all I've got for now ! please buy some of my bows at the festival Mother's Day weekend, please buy some of my bows at the festivel Mother's Day weekend, please buy some of my bows at the festival Mother's Day weekend.....

Blog Envy

I have blog envy ; I envy other peoples blogs.  It's true, I do. At least I can admit it.  It's kind of like in school, when a friend would look great in a new killer outfit, and you would just feel frumpy.  You know what I'm talking about, huh? .... Oh wait, you don't!  Well nevermind, er , forget I said anything.

I love to stalk look at other blogs. Sometimes while stalking looking, I find myself getting jealous.  Not necessarily jealous of their blogs, just jealous of the fact that they know how to make their blogs look that good. ( There IS a difference there. )  Truth is, and this may be a surprise to you all, I am not very techinal.  I am technically challenged!  Heck I am surprised I actually figured out how to do a blog at all. It did take me about 2 months.  There are still pictures floating around in cyberspace somewhere that are supposed to be here.

I also see that alot of people write out blogs in advance before they post them. I on the other hand pretty much just fly by the seat of my pants. At least I think thats the saying. It's funny how you say things your whole life, but when you post it for the world 9 people to see, it makes you wonder if you have been saying it correct all this time.

So my goal is to figure out how to do more with my blog.  There is so much out there to learn.  The blog world is my oyster! Once again IS that a saying?  Hmmm, I think it is!  Actually I think they do have a Blogging for Dummies book out there.  I am all about those Dummie books, although they do nothing to help me with my psyche.  I mean they are calling me "a Dummie"  and their book is supposed to break it down for me,  write it in terms I  can understand.  And I still don't get it!

I have, with the help of my husband, figured out how to post pictures. So I  leave you with this :

With a title like that you would think anyone would be able to understand it.  Apparently they had smarter people than me in mind when they wrote this book !

Breaking News....

I sold my first hair bow yesterday.  It's true, I did!  I was so excited that I almost jumped across the counter and gave the lady a hug and a kiss!  I didn't of course, because I have to be professional and all.  So now only $999,985 more dollars to make before I am a millionaire!  Woot! Woot! (give or take a few 9's...math never was my strong suit!)  Here is  a picture of the hair bow the wonderful lady bought, and in case you are wondering....No it is not possible to make one of these yourself.  It is an art that takes years and years of practice.  Okay fine, you more than likely could make it yourself, but why would you want to go through all that trouble when you could just buy one from me?

Chicken and Mushroom Panini

I have had tons of people ask me for this recipe.  Okay that is not entirely true, actually it is more like one person.  Hi Penny , oops Wenny, excuse me ;) But I am sure tons of people will be commenting on how good this recipe is.  That's probably not entirely true either, but hopefully maybe a couple of the handful of people that read my blog will like it. But you have to LOVE mushrooms, and some people don't ,ya know because of the whole fungus thing.  I first had something similar to this at Panera Bread a few years ago.  It was gloriousness between 2 pieces of bread, heaven on a plate, the yin to my yang, okay you get the picture.  Long story short, they quit making it.  Why?  I don't know.  I can't come up with a good enough reason as to why anyone would quit selling this mouth-watering concoction. BUT they didn't care what I said and quit selling it anyways.  Now truth be told they could have started selling it again for all I know. I haven't been to a Panera Bread since that dreadful day they told me that I had to order something else.  So you know what? I boycotted them. That's right I'll make them pay, I'll come up with my own version and sell it on the streetcorners and put Panera out of business.  That didn't quite happen, but there's still time.  So you better make this before I get the big head and start charging $10.00 for one of these bad boys.

First you need baby portebella mushrooms
Slice them and sautee in a pan with butter, also add a teaspoon or so of balsamic vinegar
Spray a nonstick skillet with cooking spray and saute boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins. Add a teaspoon or so of balsamic vinegar on these also. I added salt, pepper, and some garlic powder to the chicken to taste.

you 'll need an onion
slice it and saute in butter, add a dash of balsamic vinegar to the onions also
butter two slices of italian loaf bread, or another thick cut bread

These are a few of the ingredients I used (just cause I took the picture)

Grab your panini press, OR in my case another skillet and Yankee Candle. (and you thought candles were only for smellin' good!) Then you lay a slice of buttered bread buttered side down on a skillet heated to medium heat. Then add a slice of mozerella cheese, then  a couple of pieces of chicken. After that  add the mushrooms and onions and top it with another slice of mozerella cheese and the other slice of buttered bread.  Add the other skillet and Yankee Candle, or any other type of large candle I guess.  Then just let it press the sandwich together for a few minutes then  turn it over to press the other side for a few minutes until it is all melted and gooey, and better tastin than Panera Bread ever dreamed of being!  ( I harbor no hard feelings, that would be wrong!)

When it is all said and done it should look similar to this and not my poor baby boys whose I burnt on one side. But he soldiered on and ate it anyway. Hope you enjoy!  Let me know how it turned out.

Randomness

  • I got a sales tax permit a couple of weeks ago.
  • It was very intimidating for me.
  • Even though you are not planning on stealing money from the IRS, they make you feel like you are.
  • "List EVERYTHING you plan on selling."
  • I broke out in a cold sweat...." Ummm... bows, home decor items, etc."  "Okay then you can ONLY sell bows and home decor items!"  "Etc. doesn't count unless you list what etc. is".  I figure I am safe with home decor items. Those 3 words can describe a lot of items right ? I sure hope so !
  • I recently started making hair bows for girls, young women, females, etc. (wink, wink)
  • My goal is to make millions.
  • Of dollars, not hair bows.
  • I am not sure if that will happen.
  • I brought some of my bows up to the flowershop to display, and my co-worker (Hi Juju!) said and I quote "Wow those turned out a lot cuter than I thought they would !".
  • I'm still trying to get over that one.
  • I said all of that to say this....
  • I have plans people, BIG plans.....
